Executive Head Teacher Mrs C. Clarke
In the event of school closure due to inclement weather or the recent Coronavirus lock down we offer Remote Learning through Google Classroom and live lessons through Google Meets.
An Example of our daily timetable is as follows:
Nursery
Morning Nursery 9am - 11.30am
Afternoon Nursery 12.30pm - 3.00pm
Reception - Year 6
Practical/creative activities set via Google Classroom for EYFS
This may also have a pre-recorded video from BBC Bite Size, Oak Academy or any other website we use in school.
We also use My Maths in Year 1 to Year 6 and Oxford Reading Buddy in Nursery to Year 6 to supplement our online provision.
Remote Learning Kit
Alongside online learning through Google Classroom, we have provided every child with a remote learning kit. This was provided for children in advance to keep at home ready for them to use in the event of a bubble closure or local/national lockdown and means that children who do not have access to online learning are able to still engage in tasks set by their class teacher.
For Nursery children, the kit contains:
● A pencil, eraser and ruler
● Pot of playdough and mats
● Set of playdough mats
● Maths toolkit
For Reception children, the kit contains:
● A purple exercise book - lined for English and Creative Curriculum work
● A green exercise book - squared for Maths work
● A pencil, eraser and ruler
● Workbooks for English, Maths and Phonics
● Pot of playdough & maths
● Maths toolkit
For Years 1 - 6, the kit contains:
● A purple exercise book - lined for English and Creative Curriculum work
● A green exercise book - squared for Maths work
● A pencil, eraser and ruler
● Workbooks for English, Maths and Reading
School staff make phone calls home to check in with children who haven't accessed any online learning to talk about their learning that they had been set from the work books and to encourage them to access the online learning if possible. School staff also ask about the wellbeing of families and aim to support all of our children and families as best we can.
All parents will receive an email at the start of each week, with a Weekly Overview of Learning Activities attached. This is planned and prepared by the class teacher and allows the parent to see what areas of learning will be taught online and corresponding activities that can be completed in the workbooks for those families without access.
